Shyam Cholayil, has a unique background that spans both business and academia. Shyam has 25+ years of experience in C-level and executive positions with world-leading organizations including Microsoft, Oracle and Sun Microsystems across disciplines that include technology marketing, business strategy, and market development.

 

While at Microsoft, he headed business development for two of the tech giant’s most profitable lines: Windows Server and SQL Server. Shyam is a recognized electronic learning expert and consultant and has worked with clients including Dell, HP, Oracle Corporation and Cognizant to execute experiential learning programs.

That experience is coupled with his unique perspective as a lecturer at Curtin University in Perth, Australia, teaching core management subjects like Managing Change, Strategic Management, Communications in Business and International Management. In both business and academia, Shyam has seen the need for today’s professionals to hone core skills and he focuses on Experiential Learning, which is essentially ‘learning by doing’.

Shyam is also the founder of eLAAS Pte. Ltd., a training and management consulting firm which specializes in executive enablement in the Presales, Sales and Marketing functions. eLAAS also helps organizations convert their corporate compliance programs into eLearning modules in multiple languages.

 

Shyam has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116), issued by the Australian qualifications’ framework. Shyam also holds an MBA from the Nanyang Business School and is currently pursuing his PhD in the management of Renewable Energy at Curtin University, Perth, Australia.
